Eucalyptus Globulus

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus)

Helpful for: Asthma, arthritis, burns, blisters, cuts, cold Influenza, decongestant, headaches, herpes, helps with fevers, muscular aches and pains, migraine, pains, rheumatoid arthritis, sprains and poor circulation, sinusitis and catarrhal conditions, skin infections and insect bites, throat infection, wounds.

Therapeutic properties: analgesic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-neuralgic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, balsamic, cicatrisant, decongestant, deodorant, depurative, diuretic, expectorant, febrifuge, hypoglycaemic, rubefacient, stimulant, vermifuge and vulnerary.

PLEASE NOTE: Avoid if you sre pregnant or suffer from high blood pressure and / or epilepsy. May cause headaches if used excessively.

Boswella

Frankincense (Boswellia carteri)

Helpful for: Aches and pains, ageing skin, acne, asthma, bronchial congestion, balancing and healing action on the skin, coughs and colds, carbuncles, cystitis, dermatitis, eases postnatal depression, hemorrhoids and inflammation, insect repellant, laryngitis, rejuvenating, scars, shortness of breath, sinus congestion, sores, ulcers, uterine tonic, wounds, wrinkles.

Therapeutic properties: Antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, astringent carminative, cicatrisant, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, fungicidal, sedative, insecticide, tonic, uterine and vulnerary.

PLEASE NOTE: Considered non-toxic and non-irritant and can be used by most people. However, some people say it should not be used during pregnancy and contact to the eyes and mucus membrane areas should be avoided.

Garlic Clove

Garlic (Allium sativum)

Helpful for: Anti-ageing properties, colds, can lower blood pressure, diarrhea, digestive problems, high cholesterol, helps fights fungal and viral infections, bronchitis and respiratory problems, urinary tract infections, tuberculosis.

Therapeutic properties: Amoebicidal, anthelmintic, antibiotic, antimicrobal, antiseptic, antitoxic, antiviral, bactericidal, cholagogue, carminative, hypocholesterolemic, diuretic, depurative, diaphoretic, expectorant, fungicidal, febrifuge, hypoglycemic, hypotensive, insecticide, larvicidal, promotes leucocytosis, stomachic, tonic.

PLEASE NOTE: Generally considered non toxic and non irritant, although it has been known to irritate the stomach; may also cause sensitization in some individuals.

Geranium: Rose Scent

Geranium (Pelargonium roseum)

Helpful for: Constipation, detoxification, diarrhoea, enhancing circulation, fluid retention, hormonal imbalances, indigestion, mood swings, menopausal problems, relieving congestion.

Therapeutic properties: astringent, cytophylactic, cicatrisant, deodorant, diuretic, haemostatic, styptic, tonic, vermifuge and vulnerary.

PLEASE NOTE: Avoid in Pregnancy. May cause irritation on sensitive skin. Considered non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.

Jasminum Officinale

Jasmine (Jasminum grandiflorum)

Helpful for: Antidepressant, aphrodisiac, hangover, impotence, lack of Confidence, nourishing facial oil, premature ejaculation,

Therapeutic properties: Anti Depressant, anti-septic, anti-spasmodic, aphrodisiac, cicatrisant, emenagogue, galactogogue, parturient, sedative, uterine.

PLEASE NOTE: An emmenagogue therefore making it unsuitable during pregnancy. Considered non-toxic, non-irritant and generally non-sensitizing. Knowing to have caused skin irritation in some individuals.

Simmondsia Chinensis Jojoba

JoJoba (Simmondsia chinensis)

Helpful for: Is often added to essences to prolong the life of the oil. Can also be used as a Lubricant. Will also remove superfluous fat deposits from the thighs. Is excellent for the skin. Jojoba oil can be used as a base carrier oil into which essential oil can be diluted before applying it to the skin.

Therapeutic properties: antiflamatory, antioxident, antiseptic, astringent, expectorant.

PLEASE NOTE: No side effects are expected with the use of jojoba oil in recommended amounts.

Lavender Close Up

Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)

Helpful for: Anxiety and stress, aches or pains, asthma, allergies, athlete’s foot, burns, bruises, dermatitis, depression, eczema, headache, insomnia, burns, insect bites and stings, insect repellent, labor pains, muscle stiffness, oily skin, rheumatism, relaxing In bath water, skin problems, sunburn, sprains.

Therapeutic properties: antiseptic, analgesic, anti-depressant, anti-convulsant, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, anti-spasmodic.

PLEASE NOTE: Considered safe for almost everyone. However, lavender is considered to be emmenagoguic and needs to be avoided until late in pregnancy.

Lemon (Citrus limonum)

Helpful for: Asthma and flu, corns, calming, greasy skin and hair, headaches and migraines, relieves throat infections, warts and verrucas, also good for travel sickness.

Therapeutic properties: anti-anemic, antimicrobial, anti-rheumatic, anti-sclerotic, antiseptic, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrisant, depurative, diaphoretic, diuretic, febrifuge, haemostatic, hypotensive, insecticidal, rubefacient, tonic and vermifuge.

PLEASE NOTE: Avoid during pregnancy. Can cause skin irritation in sunlight (photo sensitivity). Avoid prolonged use.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass (Andropogan citratus)

Helpful for: Duretic, excellent for aching muscles and headaches, indigestion and gastro-enteritis, laryngitis and fever, is helpful with colitis, respiratory infections, oily skin and acne, can also help with excessive perspiration.

Therapeutic properties: analgesic, anti-depressant, antimicrobial. antipyretic, antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, carminative, deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicidal, galactagogue, insecticidal, nervine, nervous system sedative and tonic.

PLEASE NOTE: May have adverse effects during pregnancy. Not recommended. May cause skin irritation if used on sensitive skin.

Marjoram (Thymus mastichina)

Helpful for: Arthritis, hypertention, panic Attacks, swollen and aching Joints, stress, insomnia.

Therapeutic properties: analgesic, anti-spasmodic, anaphrodisiac, antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, carminative, cephalic, cordial, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, fungicidal, hypotensive, laxative, nervine, sedative, stomachic, vasodilator and vulnerary.

PLEASE NOTE: Not to be used in Pregnancy. Non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.

Myrtus Communis

Myrtle (Myrtus communis)

Helpful for: Coughs and colds, mouth ulcers, skin complaints, soothes inflammations, sinus infections, stops body odour, urinary, infections.

Therapeutic properties: Antiseptic, antibacterial, astringent, decongestant, expectorant stimulant, tonic.

PLEASE NOTE: Non-sensitizing, non-toxic, and not-irritant. No special cautions.

Neroli

Neroli (Citrus aurantium amara)

Helpful for: Anxiety and shock, aphrodisiac, colitis and diarrhoea, depression, general tonic, headaches, immune deficiency, insomnia, nourishing as a facial oil, neuralgia, palpitations, premature ageing, skin care, stress, vertigo, is also said to be beneficial when used to treat sexual problems.

Therapeutic properties: Antiseptic, antidepressant, antispasmodic, antiseptic, anti-infectious, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, carminative, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, cordial, digestive, deodorant, emollient, headaches and sedative and tonic.

PLEASE NOTE: Avoid during pregnancy. Considered non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.
