Essential Oils Properties
Niaouli (Melaleuca quinquenervia)
Helpful for: Acne, burns cuts, and throat infections, Clears scars,spots and tension headaches, cold virus, as an air purifier, eases breathing, pain relief, sore throats, use as an inhalant or in massage oil.
Therapeutic properties: analgesic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, bactericidal, balsamic, cicatrisant, decongestant, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide, stimulant, vermifuge and vulnerary.
PLEASE NOTE: Avoid in early pregnancy. Avoid if you have, hypertension, tachyarrhythmia, or narrow angle glaucoma.
Patchouli / Patchouly / Pachouli (Pogostemon cablin)
Helpful for: Fungal & bacterial infections, water retention, cellulite, constipation and overweight, inflammations, wound healing, scars and sores, can also help with acne, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis and scalp disorders. It is also considered to be good for treating sexual problems such as impotency, loss of libido, sex drive, erectile problems, frigidity etc. Will also give relief from insect bites as well as being an temporary insect repellant.
Therapeutic properties: Anti-depressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, cicatrisant, cytophylactic, deodorant, diuretic, febrifuge, fungicide, insecticide, sedative and tonic.
PLEASE NOTE: Is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitizing. Large doses could cause a loss of appetite, and loss of sleep in some individuals.
Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
Helpful for: bad breathe and toothache, concentration or memory difficulties, headaches, helpful for Mental Fatigue, in a Foot bath to control foot odour, indigestion problems, mental exhaustion and depression, can be used to help Irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, reduces skin itchiness and irritation, stress.
Therapeutic properties: analgesic, antigalactagogue, anesthetic, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, astringent, cephalic, carminative, cholagogue, cordial, decongestant, emmenagogue, expectorant, febrifuge, hepatic, nervine, stimulant, stomachic, stimulant, sudorific, vermifuge.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be used in Pregnancy. Is non-toxic and non-irritant, but the menthol content may cause sensitization in some individuals
Pine (Pinus Sylvestris)
Helpful for: Arthritis, cystitis, cuts, can stimulate circulation. It can also help in cases of asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, colds and flu. Helps with laryngitis, muscular aches and pains, nervous exhaustion, neuralgia, prostate problems and urinary infections. Also good for rheumatism. It can also help to ease breathlessness, sinusitis and gout.
Therapeutic properties: antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, deodorant, diuretic, expectorant, hypertensive & insecticidal.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not use if pregnant. Do not use undiluted on the skin. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with sensitive areas such as eyes. Can cause allergic reaction and irritate sensitive skin.
Rose (Rosa centifolia)
Helpful for: Calming, depression, dermatitis, eczema, headache, insomnia, poor memory, rashes, sores, oral thrush, hair conditioner, high blood pressure, insomnia, indigestion, palpitation, stress, urinary tract infections.
Therapeutic properties: antidepressant, antiviral, antiseptic, antiphlogistic, antispasmodic, astringent, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, cicatrisant, choleretic, depurative, emmenagogue, hepatic, haemostatic, laxative, stomachic, sedative, tonic.
PLEASE NOTE: Avoid in Pregnancy. Considered non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.
Rosewood (Aniba rosenodora)
Helpful for: Anxiety, colds, coughs, fevers, headaches, infections, Insomnia, impotence and frigidity, Mood Swings, Menapausal Pains, nausea and stress-related problems, and nervous tension, skin care (aging skin and wrinkles), while lifting depression.
Therapeutic properties: anti-depressant, mildly analgesic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, bactericidal, cephalic, deodorant, insecticide and stimulant.
PLEASE NOTE: Avoid in Pregnancy, May cause irritation on sensitive skin Considered non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Helpful for: Asthma, arthritis, bronchitis, catarrh, diarrhea, dyspepsia, flatulence, general tonic, headaches, immune defiiciency, infections, muscular pains, jaundice, muscular pain, migraines, mental fatigue and nervous exhaustion, neuralgia, poor memory, poor circulation, rheumatism, sinus and stimulant.
Therapeutic properties: Antidepressant, analgesic, astringent, cholagogue, carminative, cordial, cephalic, diuretic, digestive, emmenagogue, hepatic, hypertensive, nervine, rubefacient, stimulant, sudorific and tonic.
PLEASE NOTE: Not to be used in pregnancy, with high blood pressure, or epilipsy.
Sandalwood (Santalum album)
Helpful for: Asthma and bronchitis, anxiety, acne, aphrodisiac, cystitis, chronic dry coughs, depression, dry eczema, diuretic, dry or cracked skin, excellent for oily skin conditions, fear, insecurity, improves blood circulation, insomnia, laryngitis, low self-esteem, nervous exhaustion, relieves itching and inflammation of the skin, sore throats, stress, stretch marks, urinary infections.
Therapeutic properties: Antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antiphlogistic, antiseptic, astringent, aphrodisiac, carminative, diuretic, emollient, expectorant, sedative and tonic.
PLEASE NOTE: Avoid use during Pregnancy. May also cause irritation when applied to sensitive skin. Considered non-sensitizing, non-toxic and non-irritant.
Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
Helpful for: Acne, asthma, athletes foot, burns, bites, bronchial, cold sores, cystitis, congestion, coughs, catarrh, dandruff control, fungal infections, glandular fever and gingivitis, mouth ulcers, sinusitis, stings, sunburn, sores, spots, thrush.
Therapeutic properties: Antiviral, antimicrobial, antiseptic, balsamic, bactericide, cicatrisant, expectorant, fungicide, insecticide, stimulant and sudorific.
PLEASE NOTE: Caution is required if you are pregnant, check with your health worker before use. Considered a safe oil as it is non-toxic, a non-irritant and generally non-sensitizing. Possible skin irritant in some individuals.
Vetiver (Vetiveria Zizanoides)
Helpful for: Arthritis, aging and irritated skin, acne, bronchitis, dry skin, both mental and physical exhaustion, colds, cuts, exhaustion, eczema, fever, fatigue, flu, fleas, frostbite, headaches, heatstroke, insomnia, lice, muscle pain, premenstrual tension, rheumatism, slow circulation, sinusitis, sprains, urinary tract infections, used for skin care, worms.
Therapeutic properties: Antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antirheumatic, diuretic, decongestant, stimulant, deodorant, expectorant.

Ylang Ylang (Canangium odoratum)
Helpful for: Anxiety, antidepressant, anger, aphrodisiac, depression, frigidity, fear and panic, general skin conditions, hypertension, insomnia, impotence, palpititations, sedative, shock, tension.
Therapeutic properties: antidepressant, antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive, nervine and sedative.
PLEASE NOTE: Ylang Ylang is considered to be a safe oil and is non-toxic, a non-irritant and non-sensitizing.
